Scribe can be configured by you or with our help, to carry out simple or more complex area calculations in a completely automated way. In some cases users require multiple simultaneous area calculations like Gross External Area for insurance purposes and Net Internal Area for a letting valuations.

Scribe can calculate areas to the inside, outside or middle of any wall.

Many of our users simply use a Gross External Area, but when it comes to commercial property valuations, more detail is required.

Our area calculation algorithms are capable of doing the following: 

Comply with:
        • RICS Measuring Code of Practice
        • IPMS, International Property Measurement Standards
        • ANSI, American National Standards
        • Can be configured for any other standard on request

Depending on user requirements the algorithm can include or exclude the following:
       - areas with a specific ceiling height;
       - stairs thread, area under stairs;
       - columns;
       - internal walls, structural or non-structural;
       - bay windows that may not extend from the floor to the ceiling;
       - voids in floors or ceilings;
       - unusable space, as defined by measuring codes.
