Can I use Scribe on any Internet Browser?
Scribe should work on any mainstream web browser (such as Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Safari etc.). Browser providers will sometimes issue updates that mean we need to do some work to maintain compatibility. We aim to do this work as quickly as possible. We can’t guarantee perfect backward compatibility with out of date browsers. The sketcher will not work on a mobile browser (Please use our native apps). If you have any concerns at all, or are having problems, please do get in touch via the contact us page.
Is there a standalone application?
There is an application available for Windows desktop devices, iOS devices and Android devices, as well as the web-based sketcher. There is no Mac version yet - although this is in the development pipeline, so watch this space!
Do I need to be connected to the internet to use Scribe?
For the web-based application you will need to be connected at all times to use the sketcher. For Windows desktop, iOS and Android you will only need to be connected when you initially open the sketcher, and again before you close to ensure your sketches are saved.
Can I use Scribe on a mobile web browser?
No, you will need to download and install the standalone application on your mobile device or tablet.
What file formats does Scribe export to?
The native file format is .apex3d. Assets can be exported in .jpeg, with support coming soon for .png, .pdf, .svg, .bmp, .dxf, and .ifc. You can also export to to a URL. This allows you to share your property model with specific people or websites. If you’re looking for an export format that’s not in this list, let us know via the contact us page.
Where are my sketches stored?
Scribe is hosted on the Azure cloud platform and all data is held within a secure European data centre managed by Microsoft. Thanks to Azure’s advanced security and resilience features, you can be assured that your data is safe with us and will always be available to you. We understand that your data is important to you so if you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch via the contact us page.
If I draw a sketch on my device, will it automatically sync to my other devices and web?
Yes! As long as you are signed in as the same user on the web, or any native application, once a plan is drawn or edited and has had a chance to sync over the internet, you can then access it across all your devices and web.
